Thoughts on Right Handed South Paws?

Hi everyone,

I started training about two years ago. Since starting I always felt much more comfortable in Southpaw stance despite a few trainers telling me to be orthodox.

To me it make a lot of sense to be a right handed southpaw:

1. if your jab is your most important weapon, wouldn’t you want it to be your dominant hand? Lead hooks also feel very crisp
2. I feel more control with my right lead leg to be able to check
3. My kicks always felt strong so my roundhouse with my left is still very strong (perhaps stronger then my right at this point)
4. Since most people are orthodox you have a slight advantage since people don’t know how to fight as effectively against a southpaw
