THE FANS HAVE SPOKEN!

Movies

I can’t wait to see this film later tonight. I had some concerns about the film seeing as tho it’s seemed bloated and overstuffed, some of the early critic reviews said just that. However now that think about it, I see it less as bloated and more of a lived in expansive universe where heroes/villains interact constantly. There’s plenty of history and precedent to back that up, many heroes debuted in another heroes comics (Punisher in Spider-Man for example) or just pop up randomly to help each other out. Nothing new at all for comics but film is different. Comics have the advantage of being able to create multiple issues with continuous stories and years lore. Film has to have a set of main characters, a protagonist, antagonist, a character arc for those characters and a compelling story all within 2 hrs. So I’ll have to see the movie in order to truly judge how they balanced everything but the reviews are great on both sides nonetheless.

My take from the scores is: Critics enjoyed the film but on a technicality it may have slow pacing and too many storylines going on at once, but the action and suspense throughout the film make up for it. Whereas fans were more forgiving of the massive universe and characters/cameos because they’re not being critical, they’re entertained by all the action and banter/relationships these characters share.
