My Career Pathway (Any Recommendation Helps)
Hey guys,
Hope you are well. I wanted to know how I can contact USL2 teams for 2027, summer. A bunch of people told me that you should be contacting this fall/winter in order for consideration. This past spring I played UPSL, built a decent amount of film but did not play to the best of my abilities. I was coming off an injury which put me out the first 1.5 months of the UPSL season so it was hard coming back and I had to work my way up into the rotation, which the season ended by the time I started playing good minutes. So barely got film.
This fall I am playing again for my youth club one last year in hopes of having a dominant season on the pitch. I am entering my sophomore year of college, and I don't know if I will be able to walk on to my school (which is D1) or not yet. Because I went to an ID Camp and the coach told me he would "monitor my progress to see if I stand out" - whether that was from my youth club or another D3 or JUCO school. Face to face at camp, he said to go to a D3 or JUCO school and be one of the best players, or go to your club again and same thing. I'm not sure if he actually cares to monitor my progress or if this email was basically a soft rejection.
My question is: Can I play USL2 next summer? When do I start reaching out and should I just send personalized emails through the whole country? This summer all I have been doing is getting better and more fit, along with sleep, nutrition, etc. Doing my best. My eventual goal although it sounds unrealistic right now is to get into the USL Championship within 2-4 years.
Thank you all for your time, any advice helps!
