Multiple Entry Visa as a Moonlighter
Hi! Recently applied for Japan ME Visa as a first time Japan traveler via DIY.
Planned my intended travel date then scheduled my visa application around it.
*A single entry visa is valid for 90 days upon issue. Therefore in case I am not able to get ME, my travel plans won't be affected.
I took premium lounge for my visa application as there are no regular slots when I scheduled it.
Gathered all the necessary documents for ME Visa
*Colored Photocopy of Passport Bio Page
*Accomplished application form
*ME application form
*ID picture
*COE from the hospital where I regularly moonlight (should indicate position, years employed and compensation)
*Tax forms - I submitted my 1701A (I don't understand tax so I just asked my accountant for any document I can submit)
*ADB from bank - only 1 bank with ADB 120k and BB 200k
*Bank statement
*Colored PRC ID photocopy
*PSA birth certificate - issued within 1 year
Went to my appointment 30 minutes earlier and stowed my bag in a rental locker.
Entered and then guided to the premium lounge. There are free drinks and snacks so take anything you want.
Waited for my turn and the officer took my documents. I was surprised that they asked for a birth certificate issued with 1 year as my certificate was issued March 2025, a few months older than 1 year. They asked me to submit a new one or else my visa wont be processed. After some thought, the visa officer relented as my application falls under intellectual figure and the list doesnt have any birth certificate requirement. Technically, this is still a requirement as it is my 1st application. I just got lucky with a lenient visa officer, I guess.
After some waiting game and I received my ME Visa within a week!
Approval dust for everyone!
