Fall internships (US)

I’m wrapping up my summer internship in a few weeks and on the hunt for fall.

Is it just me or is there a super limited number of Fall internships available right now? I’ve been looking into different platforms and everywhere.

Is it still too early? If they start in September i’m assuming they must be looking for interns now no?
