I am using AI automation as an excuse

Self reflection of a 10 years freelance software dev

Been having fun with AI agent and building all sorts of cool automation for my business. But as my workflow gets more and more "streamlined and frictionless". I am getting less and less excuse to not look at the elephant in the room.

I feel like I did alot of stuff, but my income didn't not increase, and my business don't feel like its growing.

Had come to the conclusion that... if I don't start improving the lead / sales generation. Nothing actually matters.

Don't matter if I have an AI assistant that checks my email and tag stuff.

Don't matter if my coding agent has the skill.md to write clean code and test things thoroughly.

Don't matter if I have an voice controlled AI reception that helps people book meetings.

If there is no leads & sales, all these stuff are worthless. And only serve as excuse to get a programmer's dopamine high.

I guess my coming topic will be, how do I use AI to help marketing without resulting in slop spam?
