Consumer proposal - QC province

Hello,

I recently came to terms that I simply can’t keep living every month by paying more than half of my paycheques on CC fees, I made poor financial decisions younger which made me seek help for compulsive buying which helped mentally but my debts are obviously still there. I’m kinda embarrassed about it. Someone in my family brought up the consumer proposal ideas and it seems like it would be the best for me but it kinda terrifies me. What do they ask? Any suggestions on what to do and not do before starting the process? Thank you.

Edit: I have 25k in debt, more than half of it on CC. I make around 2.4K a month.
