Formerly private music teacher (10 years ago) friends and family of former students constantly asking for private teacher recs

I haven’t been involved in private music lessons for a decade. Teaching them OR knowing the scene.

Am I wrong for feeling a little tired of constantly being asked to do these folks’ research for them? I don’t know who is locally the best piano, flute, guitar teacher or whatever. I don’t want to recommend someone who turns out to be inept or worse.

It’s emails, texts, FB messages “so and so said you’d know a good teacher for my kid”
