Is it possible for your partner to not text or call while deployed cause of training ?

He told me they will have training for 5 days ( Monday to Friday). It's Thursday now, and he hasn't call me, yes he did text me that's his safe but is that normal? Can they not really talk? Is it about the signal or what??

And also, are the girls training with men too? Or is it seperate?
