is it normal for a dash cam battery to bloat? this cant be safe

okay so this kinda freaked me out. looked up at my dash cam after work and something didnt look right. took it off and the back was swollen like the battery had expanded. looked it up and apparently lithium batteries do this when they get too hot which makes total sense since i teach and my car sits in a school parking lot in arizona with zero shade from 7am to 3pm every day...honestly the thought of a swollen battery sitting on my windshield right above my face this whole time is not great. got rid of it same day. now i need a replacement but i dont want this happening again. saw someone on here mention supercapacitors instead of batteries and that they handle heat way better. looked into it a bit and brands like ddpai and viofo seem to use those. anyone in a hot climate using a supercapacitor dash cam? actually worth it?
