Would adding neutral pH PVA to the back of a watercolor painting damage the painting itself?

I’m planning a piece that involves mounting a watercolor painting on a ceramic frame and am trying to find ways to glue it in without having the paint bleed or be affected by the glue application. Ideas welcome!
