Why does it seem like nobody dislikes or critiques Jinshi?

I absolutely love this show and I love Maomao too. It’s Jinshi that’s giving me a really hard time here. He gives off almost a rapey personality. He’s constantly trying to pursue her after she explicitly shows very clear disinterest. I can tell that the show doesn’t take this very seriously and it’s probably meant to be a joke, but it still rubs me the wrong way. I’m also not trying to be one of those overly woke people who try to get offended by everything but to me it still feels like something that is very clearly a guy trying to get a girl attention who clearly doesn’t want him. What I find really weird about this is that nobody seems to have this critique online and everybody just seems to find it attractive in some way.
