PASSED 2ND ATTEMPT!!!
Yall I am beside myself. I passed my second attempt and improved my score by 42 points!! I wanted to share what I did and what helped because I know how much all of the subs on here helped me as I was navigating my approach for the second attempt
First attempt: 441
Utilized: AOTA study pack, NBCOT study pack, OT Miri, OT exam prepper
Second attempt: 483 (took a month after first attempt)
Utilized: 450 formula, NBCOT study pack and TrueLearn!
I finished over 1400 practice questions with TrueLearn and read every single rationale. I did about 50-100 questions Sunday-Thursday and took an NBCOT practice test every Friday. I used 450 formula to brush up on main topics and dive a little deeper on the heavier contents like ACL, Ranchos, ortho etc.
NBCOT practice test scores
Practice test 1: 503
Practice test 2: 464
Full length practice test: 484
(I felt good with scenario items so skipped that one)
My practice test scores were between 460-480s before the first attempt so I was in a good spot but I genuinely think my testing anxiety and doubtfulness is what caused me to fail. For my second test, I made sure to take a break halfway through to reset, use the restroom, do a few jumping jacks and get some water. This helped a ton. I also flagged a ton of questions but ran out of time to review them all but I think this was a blessing in disguise bc I have a tendency to change answers. Above all, TRUST yourself! YOUVE GOT THIS!!!
