My bro Robert just got redeemed [SPOILERS EXTENDED] [... just a few things from the play]
People assume because he didn't treat Cersei good, that he was overall a piece of shit. And I'm not going to defend medieval, arranged marriages. But Cerseu was definitely no poor, blameless victim. When
If people could see beyond "treating his wife badly", the redemption wouldn't be needed. I'll use a few quotes:
"Ned had loved her \[Lyanna\] with all his heart. Robert loved her even more."
Surely, Ned would not think so good about Robert - at the very least the man he had been even up to the Greyjoy Rebellion - if Robert was only an abuser of women. We will never know. And I'll not a woman but ... I would much sooner go gay for Robert than Rhaegar. Without him around, and being forced to marry according to her K
Lord Father's will ... except Rhaegar, among all the evil and ugly f\*cks in Westeros, Robert could perhaps even be among the best options.

Barriatan even defended Robert to DANAERYS' FACE:
"Robert was ... A good knight. Chivalrous and brave."
He was extremely handsome (Renly looked just like him in the books, only not as tall nor as big, and he was ,"the most handsome man \[Sansa had ever seen, AFTER seeing Jamie Lannister\]", 6'6 tall and muscled "like a maiden's fantasy", was charismatic and
... The worst, but most telling quote might be from the OP, who judged that Robert was among the only three decent people (with of course Ned and ser Jamie).
