What AI Knowledge is necessary for an interview in finance?

Hi everyone,

I need some advice from people from finance.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, but I’ve decided not to pursue a career in healthcare. Instead, I’ve been accepted into an MSc in Finance, which starts this October. I know it’s a huge career change, and I’m aware that I’ll be competing against candidates with finance, economics, or business backgrounds.

I want to do everything I can to stand out and give employers a strong reason to choose me during interviews. I believe AI is becoming a major differentiator, but I’d love to hear from people actually in the industry.

What AI tools, technical skills, or certifications are employers looking for today? Are there any specific AI platforms, programming languages, financial software, or other skills that you think are worth learning before I graduate?

If you were hiring for an entry-level finance role, what would make a career changer like me stand out?
