Anyone know why it seems like more Europeans are defensible of minor girls?

I’ve noticed on Reddit whenever it’s mentioned about HUGE age gaps, dating of minors and teen girls or children, many Europeans will just JUMP to say how it’s only an American thing to be upset over it. I am confused cause I’d assume girls brains are just as undeveloped under 25 in every country/race of people. Is there a reason? It feels strange to use condoning pedophilia as a positive aspect about not being American
