Will going back on Nexplanon help with my acne?
Online it says no but I just want to see what real people have experienced with it. I had the implant for about 7 years but stopped it to see if it would help with my mental health. I’m honestly not sure if it did or if it was the change in meds in general but overall I feel a lot better without it. The only issue is I have the worst acne of my life. The only other time I’ve had acne close to this was during covid when we had to wear masks all the time. But I was able to easily fix it by starting curology. I thought I had found my holy grail of skincare and assumed that once I was off birth control it would still work. I’ve been off for a year now and I’ve been using my curology skin care routine. They even put spirolactone on it to help with hormonal acne but it’s not doing anything really. I’ll have a week or two where I have almost clear skin but still a decent amount and they’re in clusters so it looks even worse. My skin was very predictable and clear when I had the implant so I’m thinking if I get it back in it’ll clear up. But I’m worried it’ll make it worse because of what it’s saying online. Have you dealt with this before? Did going back on the implant help? Or should I switch to a bc that has both estrogen and progestin to help stabilize my acne?
