How to overcome mediocrity?

I am cto of my startup and i suck at it. I have spent 2 months building the same thing again and again to finally scrape everything and be back at the beginning. Was overengineered, and didnt pass the reality test.

Am i a moron useless for being cto and i should quit or does it happen often this kind of things when you are pre product and just trying to build what you think is right.

Also i am recruiting and passing many exams at the same time and my mind is very blurry, i know it sound like trying to find excuse for my suckiness ahaha.

Is there successful company where the cto was as bad as me?
