Feeling alone despite being married...
I (31f) feel so alone and my husband (34m) doesn't get it... He was out of town Tuesday/Wednesday for work. I had a really long and rough day yesterday. My mornings always start by 7am with getting our young kids up, dressed, and fed. Every day has a different schedule between the kids and my work. I work a flexible schedule as a news reporter that's partly from home and partly on site. Yesterday I covered an event in the morning that I also took my kids to (was family friendly and I often take them with me to things like this even when I have to take photos and notes during). Kids are both autistic and the event ended with them in meltdowns so it was a rough start. Then had some therapies for the kids.
I had to leave the house at 2 for on site work at a few different locations, so my father in law came over. I proceeded to move around to 4 different locations, ending at the baseball field where I spent 6 hours in the heat covering a couple state tournament games. I didn't get home until nearly 11pm. I knew my husband was already disappointed because earlier on the phone I said I wanted to take a shower by myself when I got home. He often wants to shower together. Our shower is barely big enough for one person so trying to squeeze in there is uncomfortable. Plus it's often the only alone time I get in a day where nobody needs me.
I get home, say hi, give a kiss, let him know I'm going to shower quick and then work some more because my work day wasn't over yet. I still had to get the newsletter done before going to bed. He immediately follows me into the bathroom and I ask what he needs. He just says "you're sexy," and "I'm just watching my sexy wife get naked." I say whatever and just get undressed and he asks if he's wrong for wanting to watch me. I said I was just stressed after a long day and wanted to shower so he stormed out. I didn't get an "I missed you," "how was your day," "you look tired" or anything acknowledging that I've been on the go for 16 hours by that point while he had already had several hours of "me" time playing video games after the kids went to bed.
This morning before he leaves he throws in there, "you'll notice the dishes were done..." First of all not all the dishes were done... Not that I'm not grateful for what was done, but I do almost everything not expecting anything in return and he's seeking some award for doing most of the dishes? I'm so frustrated and I feel so alone. He thinks I should want sex all the time but I'm lucky if I even get 30 minutes of me time in a week. He always gropes me or brushes by me suggestively throughout the day. I ask him to not do that. I'm not in the mood to be groped while cooking dinner or sweeping the floors. Friends and family who overhear this say I should be grateful for that kind of attention, but I'm not. I feel guilty for not wanting it. I want connection without sex but any little moment of connection leads him to believe I want sex. I'm left feeling guilty once again. I'm just so tired and lonely...
