The community I keep will nourish me for a lifetime
When my friend needed food because she was struggling, I gave her 2 bags filled with meats, treats, and a huge bag of rice.
When another friend was out of town and needed someone to move a package on her porch, we all offered and I was the closest person went to grab it.
When another friend was feeling the weight of the world and the heaviness of being a mother, a wife, and a human being, we coordinated so that she could have someone regularly making meals for help her out.
When someone was about to be evicted, we made sure she had a place to stay.
It’s not just about spending money or providing food. Our Altar Circle is just about showing up. You may not be able to show up all the time, you may not be able to contribute in the same way. A phone call, a hug, or just a conversation on the couch means a lot to someone.
Community is about give and take, and there’s been nothing better than the community I’ve built with witches. If you don’t have this kind of support, build it! I’ll be celebrating 2 years of community with these strong women.
