How do we feel about the balance between the 2 Act 1 variant's events?

DISCUSSION (STS2)

Me and my friend have debated this topic a fair bit and I'm personally in the camp that Underdocks is higher quality events-wise on average than Overgrowth while he holds that Overgrowth has stronger high rolls for events that make up for potential low rolls especially for how many removals/transforms you can get but I wanted to get some community thoughts on it.

As a brief (ish) summary: [Note - for random ranges I'll write the ~average]

Underdocks Exclusives:

Abyssal Baths: Trade current hp for max hp, or a modest heal.
Door of Light and Dark: Upgrade 2 (Random) or Remove 1 (Chosen)
Drowning Beacon(!!): Gain a Glowwater potion (exhaust hand, draw 10) or Fresnel Lens (all future block cards gain nimble 2 [2 extra block]) at the cost of 13 max hp.
Endless Conveyor (YES CHEF): An endless supply of 40 gold dishes with a random effect (4 max hp, 10hp, upgrade random, transform (selected), random colorless, potion, 75 gold (free)) and every 5th gives Feeding Frenzy instead (gain 5 [7] strength this turn, 0 cost)... or just upgrade a random card for free (BORING).
Punch Off: Fight 2 punch constructs for a relic, potion, and combat reward or accept an injury to get a relic.
Spiraling Whirlpool (Thank you Mr. Spiral): Get a free 33% max hp heal or give a starter strike or defend replay 1 (we love Mr. Spiral)
Sunken Treasury: ~60 gold or ~330 gold but with a greed.
The Sunken Statue: ~110 gold at the cost of 7hp or get a relic to gain 3 strength permanently after killing 5 elites.
Trash Heap: Gain a generally below-average relic for 8hp or 100 gold and a generally below-average card (forced into deck)
Waterlogged Scriptorium (!!!): Gain 6 max hp, pay 55 gold to add retain to 1 card, or a paltry 99 gold to add retain to TWO cards of your choice. (The merchant would never.)

Overgrowth Exclusives:

Aroma of Chaos: Transform or Upgrade a card of your choice
Byrdonis Nest: Gain 7 max hp, or take a curse that becomes a 0 cost 14 damage attack when you spend a rest site on it while also removing your ability to get Pael's Legion (this could be an upside or downside to you). Does also come with a cute bird though, have to measure that into play.
Dense Vegetation: Gain ~80 gold for 8 hp or get a rest action (works for relics) in exchange for fighting 4 wrigglers (the freaky lil guys that spawn after first phase of phrog parasite)
Jungle Maze Adventure: Get ~50 gold, or ~150 gold at the cost of 18 hp
Luminous Choir (!): Remove TWO cards but add a Spore Mind (1 cost, exhaust) to your deck or pay ~125 gold for a relic.
Morphic Grove (!!): Lose ALL gold (at least 100) to transform TWO cards, or gain 5 max hp
Sapphire Seed (!!!): Heal 9 and upgrade a card, or give a card Sown (Gain 1 energy when played the first time each fight)
Tablet of Truth: Sacrifice 3, 6, 12, 24, all but 1 Max hp to upgrade random cards or heal for 20
Unrest Site: Gain Poor Sleep (Unplayable, Retain curse) for a FULL max hp heal, or sacrifice 8 max hp for a relic.
Wellspring: Add a random potion, or add a Guilty (Unplayable, removed after 5 combats) to remove a card.
Whispering Hollow: Pay 50 gold for 2 potions or 9hp for a random upgrade
Wood Carving: Turn a start card in Peck (2x3[4] damage), toric toughness (2 cost, gain 5[7] block this turn and the next 2 turns), or enchant a card with slither (cost randomized 0-3 when drawn)

---

With that all in mind, I hold the stance that while I respect the potential for insane high rolls in Overgrowth what with it having functionally 5 exclusive remove or transform events for starter cards along with sapphire seed which is one of the strongest Act 1 events in the game (possibly just in the game frankly?) it also has several events I consider duds or which can hurt you a not insignificant amount in the act which already has higher damage encounters than underdocks.

In contrast, with the exception of Trash heap (which still isn't that bad) none of the Underdocks exclusives ever feel unwelcome to me and Mr. Spiral, Endless Conveyor, and ESPECIALLY Waterlogged Scriptorium are exceptionally powerful. The fresnel lens can also be absolutely obscene on any character with access to multi-turn block cards like regent or silent.

But idk, with all the info summarized there what do y'all currently think on the event balancing? I think it's worth thinking about before we eventually get our alt-Act 2 and 3 one day.
