no rains in south coast!? 😭😭

hi everyone, i'm 24F coming from India, just landed in colombo, my original plan was to go to easy coast arungam bay as everyone was advising that but now im watching in insta that hriketya is all sunny hardly any rains? i mainly just want a chill fun beach vacay with calm sea, socialising and fun, good vegan food options and sunsets!!! i'm now contemplating if i should go all the way to arungam by 8 hours drive or just go to hriketya and do south coast any suggestions? pls help i can't decide 😭 alsooo im not planning on doing any surfing i can't even swim just need calm safe waters to play around in
