Labral tear - advice on next options
Hi everyone, I (26m) have been following this sub for quite awhile and feel like this is the best place to gather advice. Long story short, I got diagnosed with a labral tear and my ortho strongly advised against me doing judo (I have been training judo for a while and I enjoy it because it has helped me develop ridiculous strength). Now, I picked up boxing earlier this year and I noticed shadow boxing and bag work has helped me tremendously in managing my shoulder pain. However, I am content with not competing at all.
To be clear, I am not asking for medical advice. I would instead like to seek advice on how I can progress with my martial arts journey. I have partially answered my own question with boxing but it feels deeply incomplete without grappling. Should I completely give up on grappling or are there any grappling styles that would allow me to work around my shoulder instability?
