Help with Break the Ice?? Glitch at very start of quest

I am stuck at the very start of the quest, I meet Elsa there, talk to her, and say let me try my pickaxe, but then it stays saying "talk to Elsa" and obviously I can't use the axe 😭 I have tried everything!! I can't progress to upgrade the ask, and each time I talk to her I get that same talk to Elsa dialogue. Of all the tricks I read online, the only thing I haven't done is take off all companions, because for some reason, I cannot select my squirrel to unequip either. Begging and pleading for assistance 🙏
