My mom PMO about bottle refusal
I really just need to vent rn. My baby is 13 weeks old I think (maybe 14 idk I lost track today lol) and around 8 weeks started going through a bottle refusal. I have ALOT of milk pumped and in the last few weeks I’ve probably dumped close to 30oz just trying different bottles for her to take. Spoiler: she won’t take any! I’ve posted about it before and I don’t really need any advice on it. I’m just dealing with it for now..
Yesterday, my mother in an attempt to try and “help” suggested we try to give my baby formula in a bottle to see if that helps the bottle refusal. Now I want to say that I have nothing against formula feeding and I think formula is a miracle. My first was formula fed from 4 months on and he’s extremely intelligent and healthy. But everyone knows how important it is to try and EBF this baby for the first year since she’s my last baby and I won’t be doing this again. It’s why I’ve worked so hard on maintaining a great supply and pumping a really good stash. But I have no idea why she said that or how she even remotely thinks that will help. I immediately got defensive and raised my voice because I’m sorry, what a stupid fucking idea. Yeah my baby who only nurses and won’t take any of the 10 bottles I’ve tried with both fresh and frozen milk may just magically start drinking formula from a bottle…. In what world does that even make sense. I get mad just thinking about it. Sorry rant over.
