What is a possible middle ground that the MLB and MLBPA could come to re: salary cap?

It’s clear that neither side is going to budge on this issue and give into the other - does anyone have any idea on what potential middle grounds there could be that both sides would agree to so we can prevent a lockout?

Like, maybe capping deferred money? A soft cap like the NBA does? Changing the revenue redistribution rules? I genuinely don’t know.

Maybe this is just me smoking the copium and living in denial at the prospect of there being a lockout, but hell, I need some kind of hope to hold onto that this can be resolved. It seems like every update we get, they’re further and further apart.
