Prismacolor Bookmarks??

Anyone else confused about the Prismacolor pencil bookmark demo for this weekend??? We got our bookmark blanks in and the glossy surface of them makes the pencils look like total crap. you can barely get a color down and they look super dull and streaky. How is this supposed to be a good demo??? anyone have any other solutions to make this work?
