Struggling a bit with this game
Hey everyone. I’m hoping someone can help motivate me through this game. I’ve just come through the Forgotten Battlefield, so I’m a decent chunk of the way in (this is my first play through).
I went from (1) struggling to get into it initially due to the very melodramatic characters, to (2) absolutely falling in love with it, to (3) for the last 5 hours or so, finding it a chore.
Specifically, I’m finding the combat a bit dull because I accidentally stumbled upon the Maelle (a) start in Virtuoso stance, (b) mark an enemy with free aim, (c) one shot them with Percee combo, which makes a mockery of most fights (and it also makes the other characters seem frustratingly ineffective). And, even though the world and levels are beautiful and stunningly imagined, I find the actual exploration element dull and unsatisfying.
Unfortunately, I’ve also gone back to finding the story a bit silly. That’s definitely a me problem - but I find that most of the cut scenes have me rolling my eyes a bit (I’m a professional in the corporate world in my thirties, perhaps it’s just that my soul has died). Did anyone who finished the game experience something similar, but by the time they finished it felt like it was worth it (ie there is a chance it’ll turn things around for me)??
