Why would a woman I dated write “I miss your cooking” after 10 months of no contact? Me 37 man
I would like to hear other people's perspectives on this situation.
I met a woman from Brasil on Tinder in 2025. We dated for around 3 months while she was in Denmark. It was an intense period where we saw each other often and had very good chemistry.
We did many things together: we went to nice restaurants, had hotel and spa stays, trained together, went for walks, and spent a lot of quality time together.
She often told me that she felt safe, relaxed, and happy when she was with me.
One thing she especially appreciated was that I cooked for her. I made homemade meals from scratch, planned the meals, and put effort into creating a nice experience. She told me several times that she loved my cooking and how thoughtful I was.
We stopped seeing each other because we had some major differences regarding the future:
- She lives mostly in Brasil and only spends a few months per year in Denmark.
- At that time, she did not have plans to permanently move to Denmark.
- We had different expectations regarding the future, living together, marriage, and finances.
- I wanted to focus on building my career and business first before making big life decisions.
After October 2025, we had no contact.
Then on July 29th 2026, she reached out first and wrote:
I miss your cooking
My question is:
Why do you think she specifically wrote “I miss your cooking” instead of “I miss you”?
Do you think it could mean:
- She misses me, but uses cooking as a safer way to reconnect?
- She mainly misses the experience, care, and feeling she had when we were together?
- She is testing whether the door is still open between us?
- Something completely different?
I’m curious how people would interpret this from the outside.
