I love the Chippin In’ quest

I’m sure that plenty of people have discussed this before, but the conversation you have with Johnny in the oil fields during the Chippin’ In quest is so heartwarming. (If you choose options that aren’t like “Johnny you’re a fuckin’ dick” of course).

You start off the game hating Johnny because, of course, who wouldn’t, he’s this legend invading your subconscious and slowly killing you. Then, throughout the game, you really get used to his presence and begin to tolerate him a bit more (even if he never stops ranting about how much he hates corpos or Arasaka). Especially if you’re trying to get all the achievements like I’m currently doing, thus spending lotssss of time hearing the quips he says during NCPD missions and gigs. It’s in this quest though that you have that genuine heart-to-heart with him and you realize how much V starts to relate to him + how he has become committed to you as a friend (even though he’s technically also you). There’s an actual bond there and I’m honestly happy to give him V’s body one more time so he can tie up his loose ends with rogue as well. Like, it wasn’t his choice to be here either.

TLDR: something about Chippin In really spoke to me and I thought it was really sweet.

Btw I haven’t actually played through any of the endings yet, just seen the vaguest of snippets alluding to what might happen so I could end up taking all this back but we’ll have to see
