Force of habit / acquiescence to NZ attachment to ~~garbage~~ beloved cheap and cheerful garlic bread' has given me fierce brand loyalty to Mamma Fiorelli's. You could not prise this out of my hands for its rustic and traditional taste and package graphics.

However, just this last visit to New World, it was priced at $9, and the Pam's stuff that looks to be the same (foil covered, two sticks) was at $6.

I turned my back on poor Mamma Fiorelli and scuttled off home with my Pam's loaves, a traitor to her great Italian tradition, leaving her clutching her ancient mixing bowl amongst her margarine wrappers and earthenware jars of garlic powder dating back ~~generations~~ a couple of decades.

This stressful time for someone wanting to support her artisanal business might be something we've all grappled with at some time, left me wondering - who is Mamma Fiorelli?

I googled and can't find much at all about her - possibly she's Australian? - I couldn't even find who manufactures the loaves under her supervision and tight quality control.

Anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps if I knew more about her I could cough up the extra $3, but until then... this economy has my allegiance in question...

Plus, the Pam's stuff tasted abut the same.
