Maximum Power Limit

I have hit the power limit in Bleak Beach and now Pallet town. I still have an entire empty island left to do there. I’m frustrated. I do admit that I have gone a little crazy with lights and struggled to understand the electricity in the beginning and probably have used too many generators. I’m open to any advice as to how to fix this. Or are there any rumors of a future update that would give us more? I know they already doubled it last update.
