Struggling with purity and spiritual weakness in my relationship. need advice and guidance
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I really need some advice, prayer, and perspective right now.
My boyfriend is actually the one who first introduced me to church. Through him, I came to know God, felt His Holy Presence, and experienced His redemption and grace. I am so thankful for that foundation, but right now, our relationship is really struggling spiritually.
We keep falling into physical temptation and premarital sex. Every time it happens, we feel deeply remorseful and agree that we want to stop, but time and time again, we end up falling into the same cycle. It breaks my heart, and I cry about it because I truly want us to grow with Jesus at the center of our relationship.
Right now, we are spiritually weak. We rarely talk about God when it’s just the two of us, and I know He isn't in the middle of our relationship the way He should be. We both genuinely want to change, but in the moment, we act impulsively and rely too much on our own willpower, which clearly isn't working.
I really want a relationship that honors Jesus, but I don't know how to break this cycle on my own. Has anyone gone through this and successfully established real boundaries? How do we build practical accountability and put God back at the center when we feel so weak?
Thank you so much to anyone willing to share wisdom, prayer, or guidance. 🥺❤️
