Cant figure out how to stream the Last of Us with out of state friend

My friend in a different state and I have been trying to watch the Last of Us on HBO Max for over an hour. First, we tried Zoom, I shared my screen, but on his end, the screen was just black. Same with Teams. Then, we tried Teleparty, but when he clicked on the link I sent him when you click on "copy link," it told him the Teleparty does not exist. I closed out Teleparty and created a new one three times, including one after I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Teleparty, and got the same error message. Finally, we tried Discord -- I shared my entire screen (someone told me that when you share just one tab, it doesn't work), and while the video popped up for him, the audio did not.

This took so long that he had to go to bed. Does anyone have any solutions so this doesn't happen again?
