Are agencies any good

Graduated in July 2024 and done a waitressing job for over a year and quit then did some travelling. Been about six months and currently jobless 🫠🫠. I’ve tried applying to jobs that are to do with my degree (criminology) but haven’t heard anything back. Not even an email with the typical we’ve decided not to move forward. I’ve even contacted some agencies but again nothings come from it. They say we’ll keep an eye out but it’s been months since they’ve last contacted me. Now I’m looking on indeed, reed, totaljobs etc but the only jobs they’re listing are teaching assistant, recruitment jobs or sales. How reliable are these jobs because it seems like they’re the only things being posted.

I’m London based if that makes any difference.

As an extra rant, been looking into entry level jobs but the requirements are at least 1-2 years of experience. How can you advertise as entry level if you’re required to have experience 💀💀 why do places do this??
