Yellow eyes?

Hello Reddit, My boyfriend’s mom’s eyes are so yellow. I understand this is a sign of liver failure, but I’m concerned that my boyfriend is unaware of this. For context, I am in nursing school and my uncle just passed away from an esophageal varices bleed. I just never saw my uncle when he was bad, so I don’t know how bad it is to see someone with this. It is just making me sick, because it’s making me so upset I really want the best for his mom she’s the sweetest. I’m stuck on what to do, I know I can’t help her you have to help yourself, but do I say something to my boyfriend?
