First visually impaired foster dog

I accepted a foster I knew had cataracts but I didn't know the extent of vision loss, she's only 6 years old. I realize I need to make changes to keep her safe. The first day she was with me she startled me, she casually walked through the opening of a railing on my porch and fell off onto a bush, she was fine thankfully. Stairs are also a hazard her depth perception is impaired. She's also showing symptoms of separation anxiety, whenever I leave the room or house she vocalizes and pushed on the crate. I moved her crate inside a pin it's a bit better but she still is whining and trying to climb out. I am working on helping to get her more comfortable . This is all new for me, any tips for training and supporting dogs with vision loss.
