Upgraded phones, now logged out.
Hi all,
I upgraded phones today from an iPhone 13 to an iPhone 17. I backed up my iCloud so everything was up to date.
When Instagram had redownloaded, it kept me logged in on the accounts I have through my Gmail. That’s cool, however my personal instagram account that I’ve had since I was in school was through an iCloud email and was logged out.
My personal account was hacked I wanna say around 2020 and when I got back in, I enabled 2FA. I never had any issues since and was logged in 24/7. However, I now don’t remember the new password I used.
I’m able to get a code sent to my iCloud email, but after that the app is requiring me to either use the Authenticator App (which is not only bugged since I got phones upgraded but also has nothing for IG), a backup code (which I don’t know), or video selfies to further prove it’s me.
I’ve done the video selfie method three times now and I still can’t get confirmed. There are plenty of photos of me on my account too. I don’t know if it’s because I have my hair shorter now or what.
Would anyone know what to possibly do? This is a personal account with lots of family, friends, and group chats I don’t want to lose. Thank you!
