Hello all. This is my first ever Reddit post, and I’m glad it’s about an Avalanche. I just bought this 2013 with 130k miles for $14k.

I have always loved this truck since it came out. Growing up, my grandfather had one and I was obsessed with it. I was lucky enough that my parents bought me one for my first car when I turned 16. It was a red ‘05 and was an amazing first car. They unfortunately sold it when I went off to college in a big city.

Fast forward to now, I was able to purchase this beauty without a car payment and I am loving being back in the Avalanche. The interior is in excellent condition. The exterior also looks great aside from a few minor scratches.

I took it to the Chevy dealership within the first week of buying it for a multipoint inspection. They came back with a list of 12 things to fix for around 7k. Needless to say I was disappointed. I am going to post the inspection videos in the comments below.

My concerns are less with the fixes that it currently needs, and more about the rust on the frame and underside. I have never had a car this old. I would love to keep this truck for the next 10+ years if possible. That being said, I want to make sure before I put a ton of money into it, it’s worth fixing.

After reviewing the inspection videos, is this truck worth putting 7-8k into to fix up? Ideally it will last until 250k miles/10 plus years? Thank you for your help.
