Am I Overthinking?(no return offers?)

Hi I finished my internship today and had lunch with the Pml and had some kind of conversations that seemed somewhat joking or somewhat serious…(i really couldn’t tell because he sometimes makes jokes)
Like he said he cant say about the offer related topics but there will be really less number of offers given this season… accounting might not be the only path or sth… he said he wants to feed me better since before I leave (nuance like he will never see me)

But he also said that he would contact me himself in two weeks which make me be hopeful again since I thought if it’s not an offer HR would just contact not the Pml themselves…

I did have a high level of utilization rate despite interns cannot be fully evaluated with util rate.. and I did have good feedback a mixture of in line with expectations and above expectations.. and I am the only intern in this specific team(like asset management, private fund, bilingual practice, nonprofit etc)

These ambivalent feelings are literally killing me…
