Can cheap stuff be not usable?
I practiced gothic calligraphy a bunch of months ago but the difficulty of the nib use made me give up with this hobby. I have tried diverse ink types, paper, and technichs but every time happened the same: the ink was never enough even for an individual letter, I had to recharge the pen at least twice per letter and in many cases the ink also would flow directly in the first streak and after that the nib wouldn't keep writing property. The only thing I haven't changed was the nib, a metal broad nib. Does the metal kind takes part in this issue?
I'll read you.
