Any hopes for a completely fried RM1?

RM1 recently decided to get stuck in the "Paper tablet is starting" -> Screen Flash -> "Paper tablet is starting" loop. Tried all recommended fixes (e.g., different cable, drain the battery, fully charge off computer tower, hard reset/powercycle) with no effect whatsoever. It will not boot, even when plugged in.

This thing was still going strong EIGHT YEARS after I got it so I'm a little sad to see it go.

Any secret tricks or anything it can possibly be used for at this point? Do I just plan a respectful funeral at this point?
