The rise of polyamory coaching feels more like a business opportunity rather than a solution

I think the rise of polyamory coaching says two things. First, a lot of people are struggling inside these relationships and need constant help reframing jealousy, neglect and insecurity as “growth.” The structure is rarely blamed. The person in pain is told to regulate their nervous system, unpack mononormativity and do more work.

Second, coaching is extremely easy to monetize. You do not need credentials. Your qualification is basically that you claim to be polyamorous and know the terminology. You do not have to disclose how long you have practiced, how stable your relationships are or whether your private life resembles what you post online.

With the right branding, anyone could create a convincing polyamory-coach persona. Take photos with friends and imply they are partners, repost quotes about compersion and attachment, make polished Instagram slides, start a Substack, sell Zoom workshops and speak confidently about “intentional relating.” Within a year or two, you could probably be making thousands a month.

Who would know the difference? There is no licensing board, no standardized qualification and no reliable way to verify the life being sold. That is what makes the industry so appealing. The clients are distressed, the barriers to entry are almost nonexistent and the product is not proof that your relationships work. The product is the appearance that you have figured them out.

Honestly, I may have just given Reddit a business idea. haha
