At what point does asking for an app get predatory and how do I get better at it.

retail

Hey all, been lurking the sub since I started working here about a month and some change ago. I know I know everyone says this same thing but I love the job itself but getting apps is just so difficult to get for me. I work in the front lanes and I love talkin to people, coworkers are cool, atmosphere is cool but man I can’t for the life of me get any apps. I was told to keep it short and simple when pitching so I explain the best parts of the card and if they have need any other info I just provide it honestly but it’s just not working.

My question is how the hell do I get better and avoid my hours being cut, while also not having to pick up any predatory tactics. The main thing I was told is that my pitch is okay but to always follow up after the first no and ive been doing that but after the third no it just feels predatory in my opinion.

Any advice appreciated even if that advice is this job isn’t meant for me(because I’m already sorta feeling that)
