Sharing my timeline in case it helps someone in the same situation.

\- **June 6, 2026**: Applied for PGWP.

\- **June 23, 2026**: PGWP rejected — IRCC flagged two consecutive part-time final semesters.

\- **My situation**: I failed a course in my second-last semester and had to retake it in my final semester, causing a reduced course load. This should qualify under the final academic session exception, but got rejected even with an LOE attached. // [IRCC website link stating final part time semester exception](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program.html)

\- Since the rejection was within 90 days of my university's completion letter, I was still eligible to reapply fresh instead of going the reconsideration route.

\- **July 2, 2026:** Reapplied with a stronger application — detailed LOE and a university support letter explaining the academic situation.

\- **July 29, 2026**: PGWP approved! 🎉

**Key takeaways**:

\- If your part-time was due to a required course retake in your final semester, you likely qualify under the exception — but IRCC may miss it on first review.

\- A university letter alongside your LOE can make the difference.

Good luck everyone!🇨🇦
