will writing songs about negativity/darkness manifest them in my life?
I'm a musician and I make songs that lean into darker themes/aesthetics. It is the style that I've always loved listening to and making. It deeply resonates with me.
My mindset is that if I outwardly express my negative thoughts, I would become aware of them and see how ridiculous they are. The next time they pop into my head, I would be able to recognize and reject them instantly.
I worry, however, that by singing these songs again and again, they might become a negative mantra that will negatively affect my life.
How do I reconcile these two conflicting ideas? I'm quite positive that it can be done, I just don't know how. xxxtentacion, for example, seems to have done it. He expressed a lot of negativity in his music, but was able to manifest success into his life.
