Scratching my lip makes my ear itch

Hi.
I’m a 37 year old female with a strange symptom that I’ve had for many years. Just wondering whether this is a known phenomenon and if it warrants any evaluation.

Whenever I scratch one very specific spot next to the corner of my mouth (left side), I immediately feel an itchy sensation inside my left ear canal.
It only happens with scratching. Light touch does not trigger it. The ear itch starts immediately while I’m scratching and stops when I stop.

I’ve had this for years without any change.
I have no other neurological symptoms.

I’m curious about the mechanism. Is this a recognized example of referred itch or a sensory nerve phenomenon?

Thanks!
