Kinda terrifying how right The Matrix was about 1999 being mankind's peak

Hardly an original thought I know I know,

And its not like there weren't good times after that (honestly the following 20 years were fine if you didn't keep up with the news & kept mostly offline, give or take a couple of reccessions of course)

but the last 6 years? Hellworld, and when you look back at the big picture there was very clearly a point right before shit hit the fan, and it was 1999. Makes all those movies about guys hating their office jobs seem hilarious in current year; I know people that would murder for a warmly lit cubicle and a steady 9-5

Not much else to add really, just makes me a little sad in all honesty
