Sorry but there’s no way you’re going to convince me that The Smashing Pumpkins were the ones who decided to invite Olivia Rodrigo on stage, lol. The group that hasn’t done collabs on stage with people recently vs. the girl who always has surprise guests and uses other people’s stage time… At least Yungblud’s appearance on stage with them is backed up by the fact that he’s actually a part of the rest of the lineup and they’ve both publicly acknowledged each other.

Olivia and her team definitely reached out to them first and asked if she could perform a song with them which is a whole other level of desperate and embarrassing... you just know she kissed their asses so hard in the conversation. And we all know she also loves using other people’s audiences and inserting herself into the picture!! Just like going up on No Doubt’s stage and being the Sally girl for Role Model, which are eye rollable offenses but the most egregious one was when she went to Addison Rae’s stage at Coachella just to perform her own new song that came out basically the day before like girl - just perform good 4 u and put the fries in the bag. Sorry, but performing your more popular hits is etiquette as a guest on someone else’s stage in front of their fans. The list goes on!

This is definitely damage control for people saying she ripped off their song “Disarm” in “the cure” and she wants everyone to think that they’re totally okay with it. I highly doubt the first thought these 60 year old men had about their future performance was performing with someone unrelated and let alone that someone being Olivia Rodrigo, the tween angst icon, which *totally* matches their demographic. But of course she didn’t want to be too on the nose and perform the song she copied from them and with them, just so that the focus shifted from the plagiarism to “*inspiration.”*

“hey my song totally ripped off yours! can i perform with you guys so people know you’re ok with it?”
