Would it be weird for an adult to start learning to sing properly?
Hi, hope everyone’s having a good day! To start, I have always had a love for singing and music in general. In middle school I was extremely tempted to join choir purely for the lessons I’d get. I was wayyyyyy too introverted tho and ended up not doing it. I’d have joined in highschool but I didn’t have the time.
To put it short, in terms of technique I was just winging it and doing what felt right to me, but I think I might’ve built some bad habits 😭 (particularly breathing habits)
I’ve been trying to practice on my own and learn what I could from online sources, but I just always feel very out of my depth in that regard. I also don’t know what in particular I’m doing incorrectly so it’s very hard to figure out what sources I even need to look into.
My question is, is it too late for me (F/20) to seek like professional help? Or a teacher? Or really anything 😭 maybe this is just me, but it feels so awkward to look into as an adult because it’s not like I’d be I’m using this for a career or anything.
